'Persuasive Means'
by Michael C. McPherson
. . .
NICHOLAS CHAMBERS is a cop who
can't make decisions.
Not any more. He also lives
with the guilt of being responsible
for putting a boy in a coma.
Nick doesn't have to worry about
going downhill on the Job.
He has help getting him there.
A new hostage negotiator on the team,
COLLIN LEEDS, is bound and determined
to ruin Nick's life.
He is being prodded on by the
new chief of police,
DAN MURPHY, to discredit Nick
any way he can. To top it off,
Nick's wife and kids have stormed
out of the house and a re calling it quits.
They know when when to desert
a sinking ship.
In order to pick himself up again,
Nick has to find fault with
those plotting against him. He gets
more than he bargained for.
Dan Murphy is corrupt. Leeds happens
to major in police brutality.
The man has a nest of shivering victims
who wouldn't dare testify
against him.
Nick is dead against
taking that downslide to the
bottom of the barrel.
He wants his family back plus
he will not succumb to the hobnail
boots being pressed into his
chin. The former top cop is fighting back
and Murphy and Leeds
are worried.
