The Supreme Panel
is disgusted by mankind’s mistreatment
of each other
and its environment. Despite
God’s plea for patience, Earth is earmarked
for "downsizing" by an apocalypse.
In desperation,
God sends down a personal emissary
to rescue Earth without resorting
to miracle or magic. She falls into the care of intern Tom whom she instantly
infatuates; he takes her in, and helps her adjust to the customs of New
York City.
An unlikely hero,
he is unconvinced of her crusade
until he receives a "sign"
linking it to a childhood fantasy
of his own destiny. He sacrifices his career,
and their crusade overcomes
a sleazy opportunist, a skeptical establishment,
and self-doubt. Yet their conviction
thanklessly spirals them down to life
among the homeless.
Disillusioned,
they derive solace from their
mutual love and humor,
dismissing their mission as
a hallucination. Until one evening
half way around the world…
Their conviction is rejuvenated
and focused;
however, the unrelenting opportunist
has diabolic plans of his own.
But love and humor again triumph
to reign supreme.
