'The Bloody Rosary'
by Sable Jak
. . .
For generations
the rosary of Father Carlo of
Milan has been hidden
by members of the DeContini
family. Cursed in the 16th Century
by a dying young woman - the
person Father Carlo gave
his life in defending - the
rosary oozes blood
when handled by a DeContini.
Now, in 1996 Seattle, the carved,
ivory rosary has become separated
from the DeContinis
and found its way into the hands
of Sebastian Nardine, a man
with no particular religious
allegiance or any wish to be caught in
a fight for the canonization
of a good man. For that's what
the Holy See wishes to do for
Father Carlo,
make him a saint.
The DeContini family wants the
rosary back.
It proves Father Carlo died
at the hands of the first Count DeContini.
In the possession of the
wrong people it could mean the religious
and political downfall of the
family in Italy.
They'll do anything to get it back.
A private collector of religious
artifacts wants it.
For no other reason than simple
greed. He's hired two
ruthless art thieves to get
it.
And Bishop Helman wants it.
A bastard relation to the DeContinis,
he's always groveled at the feet
of the great family. This
is his chance to settle the score.
Sebastian finds himself drawn
into
the four pronged grab for the
artifact. Helping him is an
honest parish priest, a novice
nun - fresh from a life on the street
s - and a couple of well-meaning
truck drivers. Getting the rosary
to its proper owner may need
a miracle or two.

Script is listed as Noir,
but would make a good Movie
of the Week.
