'A Murder Of Crows'

It's 1936,
and an old miner is murdered in Death Valley.
The cops are showling little interest, so the miner's daughter,
Candace Douroux, hires L.A. detective, Lew Foladare,
and his partner, Tyler Ross, to find
her father's killer.

The case leads Foladare and Ross
on a search for an Indian, Charlie Wrinkle, through movie studios
and back-stabbing real estate deals.  Eventually, the case leads Foladare
back to Death Valley where it all began, right into an even greater mystery involving a lost mine and
Indian mysticism.
