'The Vortex'

Two apelike humanoids,
a mother and her baby, stroll along a path
in their forest world.
A great thunderstorm
brews overhead.
Suddenly, a monstrous creature bursts from the trees
and pursues them.
A lightning bolt slashes
the air
in front of the humanoids creating a vortex of blinding light.
Sucked into the vortex, the mother slams into the ground
in the Florida Everglades and loses consciousness. The baby lands unharmed
and wanders off. DIANNE, a veterinarian, rescues the baby
from an alligator and takes her home.
So begins the saga of
two unique beings from a parallel world.
Though endowed with superpowers, the mother desperately fights murderous
thugs who she destroys.
She also battles a cruel
scientist
in order to rescue her baby and return home.
But only her baby makes it back.
