'Offsides'
by Gregg Delso
. . .
OFFSIDES is a dramatic comedy,
set in modern suburbia about
an unemployed schoolteacher,
NICHOLAS MILLS, who suddenly
finds he has an extraordinary,
if not peculiar gift.
Mills, a family man with a wife
and young son,
hasn't been able to land a teaching
job in years. Weary of toiling
as a substitute schoolteacher,
Nick is at a crossroads and
looking for a new direction
in life.
After a "shocking" mishap though, he soon uncovers a proven, yet highly unorthodox method of predicting the outcome of any professional football game. An avid pigskin fan, Nick sees this as his one big chance to finally make something of himself and sets out with his good friend and quirky neighbor, PHIL CARMEN, to a make a bundle of money.
Things go well at first, but
when greed raises it's ugly head,
Nick and Phil's friendship crumbles
and Nick finds himself staring
a new partner in the face -
organized crime.
With everything he holds dear
in the balance,
Nick must ultimately choose
which side
he truly is on.
