In this cynical urban comedy
set in the uncharted wilderness of Brooklyn, New York,
we meet Eddie Lorenzo, a small-time hustler
with large problems.

While serving as a juror on a murder trial
Eddie's approached by a Mysterious Guy who offers him $5000
to plead "not guilty" and deadlock the jury.

The trouble is, $5000 doesn't do Eddie any good --
he owes $30,000 to an impatient and
thoroughly unsympathetic
loan shark.

So, in desperation, he makes a counter-offer.

For $30,000, up front, he'll convince everybody on the jury
that the self-evidently guilty defendant
is actually innocent -- and
get an acquittal.

The Mysterious Guy ultimately agrees to the counter-offer
with one additional proviso -- if Eddie fails to get the acquittal,
the Guy will kill him.

Slowly.

While not exactly the best deal in town,
it's the only one Eddie's got.

In no time at all, he's got ten converts...
then he has to deal with the final hold-out -- Shelly Breitman,
Professional Telephone Psychic, potential love interest --
and possibly the stupidest woman ever to serve on a jury
in the County of Kings.
