'From Insult To Injury'

. . .
NILES works as a "professional
insulter",
delivering spoken insults and criticisms to various people,
from anonymous complainants who feel they have no other way
to vent their anger, frustration,
and/or irritation.
Niles loves his job,
despite its low pay and sometimes high risk.
Niles' wife, ELLA,
dominates and berates him mercilessly,
demanding that he quit.
He agrees.
On his last day,
he eagerly takes on the job of insulting an apparently dangerous man
named CHESNEY. After Niles purposely taunts him,
Chesney shoots Niles in the gut.
When Ella comes crying
at his gurneyside,
Niles slips into unconsciousness with a smile on his face,
finally getting back at her.
