'Sumo: A Documentary'
by Kris Hanson
. . .
One day while a young
man is
walking down the street of (enter location here),
he happens upon a dojo where sumo wrestlers
are training.
The young man has found
his dream,
to be a sumo wrestler.
Irony sets in;
the young man is about 150 lbs. Even more ironic,
the great sumos in the dojo are lighter than he is:
135-145 lbs.
The young man finds out
that he sucks at being a sumo
and the trainer and all the other sumos make fun of him
for being so bad.
He begins to cry,
but an old washed-out trainer comes along
and says he will train him.
Comedy ensues
when the young man begins to train for greatness.
In the end, the young man becomes a great sumo,
but when then he looks into the mirror one day
and realizes, "What in the hell am I doing?!?!"
and quits.
Other ironic points to
take into account: f
ilm will be set in Japan, but will obviously be in a US city;
no one will be Japanese; cheap dubbing on some characters
when they can obviously speak English; "Eye of the Tiger"
will be an integral song.
