'Con Man'
by Murray
Spritzer
. . .
Harvard Business School
professor, Adam Bernstein, challenges his new class to design
a unique enterprise that will generate
a cash flow of $1 Billion
by the year 2000.
Charlie responds
by founding a new religion.
By radio telescope,
he receives its testament from Outer Space,
recruits a million adherents at $1,000 per family,
over the World Wide Web.
Outraged authorities
poise to stop the obvious fraud,
but Charlie pours the billion into an astonishing and successful charity,
even as he predicts an immediate
Apocalypse.
It arrives with
earthquakes, avalanches, and vampire bats
attacking the nations'
beef supply.
Charlie's bold enterprise
survives
when a message from Out There applauds his charity
and postpones the Apocalypse
to the Year 3000.
