Charles Bukowski's 'Ordinary
Madness'
Adapted from Bukowski’s writings
by Fant
. . .
Held together by the
callused hand of Charles Bukowski’s alter-ego,
Hank Chinaski, the film tells memorable and extremely funny stories
of himself and his mates.
This project seamlessly
weaves together
several of Bukowski’s most notorious episodes,
including "Six Inches" and
"The Fuckmachine".
The poignantly twisted
kick-off
shows Hank at home in a dysfunctional family free-for-all,
that ends up with Hank’s weapon of choice, a steel tipped fountain pen,
in the cheek of the abusive boyfriend of Hank’s daughter’s mother.
This folds into the story
of Hank’s erst-while buddy, Red,
whose romance with a crimson-haired witch, ends up taking him places
he never dared dream he’d go, as she transforms him into a living dildo.
Henry Beckett got his
problems too--
when big green dots form on his body, he goes on a kill crazy rampage
that takes several of L.A.P.D.’s finest men in blue to put down.
Not one to leave his
audience waiting,
Hank tops us off with a trip to the mad German scientist’s masterpiece,
"The Fuckmachine". A session with this red hot cyber piston costs
twenty dollars a pop--and Hank discovers a love that comes at lethal risk
in this dark-humored capper to a movie
which pulls out all the stops.
Bukowski is not for
the safe, the squeamish, the insulated,
or the easily offended.
His admirers however,
have long cherished the honesty, rawness and perverted poetry
that consistently marked his work.
This project will honor
and celebrate that,
with vivid characters and a heightened and dynamic visual sensibility
that captures the mood and textures of Bukowski’s world,
to share it with his loyal--and eager--
Global audience.
