'Poison
Spring - Y2K'
by Michael
J. Bellamy
. . .
It is the eve of the millennium.
The employees of the Pearly
White Toothpaste Company
are assembled to celebrate.
Despite his business difficulties,
T.S. Buchwald, CEO, raises his
glass and toasts the new era
with optimism. But at
the stroke of midnight, his pacemaker fails
and he falls flat on the boardroom
table,
dead.
The fate of the company
rests in the hands of its rising
star,
Richey Roberts.
Entrusted by the late CEO to
close a deal that will bring
an influx of money to the financially
strapped company, Richey's venture
takes him to Poison Spring.
Mostly deserted,
the small town is inhabited
by a few strange characters,
and he soon finds out that anarchy
rules. Things are going from bad to worse
for Richey when he discovers
that the CEO had
faked his own death.
Is it all a dream on the eve
of
the new millennium?
