When her uncle discovered that her lover, a commoner, was stowed away on the ship, he exiled Marguerite, her lover and her governess to a primeval island off the coast of Nova Scotia.   2. A Tanglewood Tale True Story Drama Budget: $4.8M Story of friendship between legendary authors Herman Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne. They met when both were broke and Hawthorne was run out of Salem, Mass. for ridiculing politicians in print. Melville was run out of New York because of the “depraved” sexuality in his life and his books. Hawthorne was reclusive and hardly spoke in public or went to social gatherings, but something in Melville brought out a zest for living and conversation in Hawthorne. He was broke, alone and supported himself by writing children’s stories. Their friendship was the most intense of either’s life. Something happened to end the friendship. After Hawthorne left the Berkshires in the dead cold of winter, Melville never published another novel while he was alive. To be filmed in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. Sunset Plaza Budget: $9.1M “Candide” in Hollywood; a sweet young thing freshly arrived finds her acting career takes off only after she’s suspected of murdering the town’s most hated, feard, and lecherous agent.   2. Disguised Budget: $11.4 An action mystery story of intrigue and the battle of wits between the FBI’s finest and their nemesis, the illusive master thief, Luc, who has just surfaced again for the largest robbery in the bank’s history. Seeking: Willem DaFoe as lead.
  3. When Stars Collide Budget: $12.4 Romantic Comedy where love blooms and flourishes in all who are caught in a moment of magic, similar to Moonstruck and Sleepless in Seattle, where they truly did live happily ever after.
