The Client

As the backbone to this company’s operations, the procurement team is responsible for billions of dollars of business-critical spend including the latest media and communications technology.

The Role

As part of the technology sourcing portfolio, you will lead and manage strategic sourcing projects and establish commercial arrangements for all products and services. With a sound understanding of operational requirements, you will develop and execute strategies that result in the optimum commercial outcomes whilst ensuring continuity of supply.

You will be accountable for the delivery of sourcing activity which includes:

• coordination of detailed analysis and synthesis of internal requirements for complex goods and/or services, and analysis of complex external suppliers and markets;
• creating and managing project documentation, including project schedules, specifications, negotiations and contracting with suppliers;
• determining strategies and tactics around sourcing projects utilising divisional spend and decision support systems, and deliver recommendations resulting from prior agreed business objectives;
• procuring goods and/or services as required for the conduct of the business, meeting agreed milestones, quality standards and savings/cost avoidance targets; 
• and reporting to stakeholder boards/senior management.

You have practical experience in a work related environment including:

• the ability to identify and execute cost out opportunities;
• a track record in leading strategic sourcing projects;
• proven negotiation experience;
• and sound commercial acumen with the ability to consult with the business units to formulate and implement effective vendor management and sourcing strategies.
